My Hurricane Irene Preparedness Plan

It's been awhile for many things... Blog post, pulled pork and an approaching hurricane. My last big hurricane preparedness plan was Red Lobster next to Kendall Toyota, 19 years ago (plus a couple of days).

8.5 pound Boston Butt, rub put on yesterday at 6pm and started smoking today at 8am @250°. I expect it to be @200° between 5 & 6pm tonight.

Smoking with Apple Wood.

For those of you that don't know, my birthday comes along in a little over a month. If you are looking for ideas (and who isn't??) here is one: Get a gift for Slash

Remember, Lowe's gives a 10% Veterans discount, every day, all day.... but ONLY with a valid VA issued photo ID (which leaves me out since the VA denied me health benefits recently and therefore, the ID card), see here for details: Lowe's Veterans 10% Discount news release

Jus' sayin'

Seriously, everyone in the impending path of the hurricane, be safe and take your preparedness very seriously. We know what its like to go thru a real hurricane, and this certainly is stacking up to be a real bad-ass hurricane and with that comes the inherent dangers. Be safe!

Teriyaki Marinated Chicken

Indirect med-high heat for 40 minutes.

Since it's boob meat, check for 170° internal temperature and clear juices.

Tonight there will be beef. And Bacon. And maybe even corn.
